Developing an Electrical System toward the Prevention of Heat Ventilation Air Conditioning Contamination

Biofilms comprise diverse bacteria and fungi with slime material, especially in humid conditions. The surface of the heat ventilation air conditioning (HVAC) system, at evaporator, is high moisture conditions due to compression relaxation refrigerant. electrically polarized molecules, which include polysaccharide, DNA, liposome, amino acids. Thus, when an electric field applied biofilms, creates electrostatic force that enhances destruction biofilms results detachment from surface. principles are known as bioelectric effect. A new (BE) technology has been developed focused on optimization electrical energy for biofilm removal, its efficacy previously demonstrated. In this work, a prototype BE device HVAC application fabricated tested. Escherichia coli (E. coli) were utilized standard model evaporator. demonstrate was one hour, approximately 81.8% total removed. Furthermore, live cells reduced by 71.4% under device, compared non-treated biofilms.
